Cognitive Distortions
A cognitive distortion is an unhelpful thinking style that usually leads someone to view reality inaccurately. Most often these thoughts are negative and can trigger or worsen someone's mood. The use of cognitive distortions is COMMON -- everyone has used at least one before. But, sometimes it may be hard to notice when you're using them.
Here are some examples of cognitive distortions. Some of these thinking styles may resonate with you more than others. Just remember your thoughts are NOT always accurate!
